The Unforgettable 'Geetika'

To me the term 'satisfaction' holds two definitions:

  1. One feels satisfied with if one achieves goals though not too the fullest but to a large extent.
  2. Satisfaction can also be considered as a rare experience when your thirst for something implicit, undefined and intangible aspiration is quenched.

Recently I got a chance to comprehend the second connotation of ‘satisfaction’ on my visit to ‘Aasharan’. ‘Aasharan’ is a noble initiative to up bring the destitute and ignored children of our society. Recently i visited 'Aasharan' as a part of the SAPPORT team. The entire team was supposed to spend a day with some really cute children and to me that day has turned out to be an ever remembering one. The joy and smile on the face of these children while spending time with strangers like us was way beyond my imagination. To me most touching was the cute little 'Geetika'. The warmth and affection of these kids sadly reflects their lack of exposure to the outside world.
The kind of talent these kids have is phenomenal. They can draw, paint, sing and dance beautifully. I wish they get a right platform to showcase their talent. But for that to happen their basic needs of education, food and clothes have to be taken care of.

At the end of my visit I realized the true meaning of an anonymous quote
‘I cried for I had no shoes till I saw a man with no feet’
